Alice Springs is the main travel destination to all visitors going into central Australia.  Many travelers to the area are coming to see the world famous Uluru (previously known as Ayers Rock).  This 3 km long rock formation has significant spiritual meaning to the local Aboriginal community and has long been a goal for anyone interested in nature and photography.   Part of the adventure of Alice Springs is the trip to get there, especially if you are traveling by road.
